All about me and what I like.

My name is Jesse TeRangi Tawai. I am 17 months old or 1 and a half. I'm from New Zealand and I am Maori. My tribe is Ngati Porou which originates from the East Coast. My Marae is Hiruharama which means Jerusalem in Maori. My Marae is near a town called Ruatoria which is north of Gisbourne. I have no brothers and only one half sister who lives far away. I have lots of friends and cousins, but my favorite cousin is Makayla. She is only two weeks younger then me. My English name Jesse was taken from my Aunty Jessie and in honor of being her name sake she gave me her pounamu, which I wear around my neck always. Pounamu is greenstone or Jade and is very precious in my country, so I treasure mine. My Maori name TeRangi Tawai is a derivative from the name TeRangi Tawea. TeRangi Tawea was a Famous chief from the East Coast a long time ago. He ruled a very large area of land and was greatly honored. My favorite person is my dad. We like and do all the same stuff, from really hot chili sauce to Gymnastics and being ambidextrous. But the best thing we share is our love of technology! Rhee Taekwondo - My mummy was teaching Taekwondo when I was still in her tummy and I went to my first grading when I was less then 24 hours old. Now I go to training almost four times a week and I know how to do a front kick and punch and chop and block. I play games with the big kids and I can do army crawl and warm ups. I once got to play follow the leader and everyone had to follow me, I made it really fast and hard and everyone was laughing. My favorite person at training is Bella. She is a Junior black belt and dad says I'm going to marry her one day. Computers - The first time I saw a computer was only a few minutes after I was born my dad brought his laptop to the hospital and he showed me how to play frogga, it was cool. I now have two laptops one running windows 95 and it's really slow and old and another one running windows 98 which is old but it plays my favorite game "Stuart Little". I like my laptops but I love mum and dads computers more, so I take any opportunity I can get to climb up and play on them. Dad says he is going to build me a computer for Christmas. Cell Phones - I have two real cell phones but since I like to call dad so much at work they don't have any money on them. So I try and take my mums phone whenever I can and I know just how to call dad. Even if I don't make phone calls I like to take pictures and watch the videos. Cars - When I grow up I want my own car. I love mum and dads cars. When the door is open I climb into the drivers seat and pretend to drive. I know what all the buttons do! Last Christmas I got a ATV and I drive it everywhere. Sometimes when mum and dad work on their cars and clean them I work on my ATV and clean it. Baby Gymnastics - Twice a week I go to baby gym around the corner at Rimutaka gymnastics club. For forty five minutes I get to run around playing with all the cool stuff. I can run along the biggest beams only holding onto one hand, I can do handstands and rolly pollys and I love to bounce on the trampolines. Sometimes there are slides and tunnels. The Bars and big soft mats are always heaps of fun as well as the hoops and big bouncy balls! Food - I know I couldn't live without food but there are something's I absolutely love! Chocolate and fizzy drinks are the best but I hardly ever get them because mum says they aren't very healthy. Luckily I love banana's and rice cakes. For breakfast dad and I have toast or Sultana bran, but I spit the sultana's out. I like yoghurts and dads Noodles with Indian tomato's and sweet Thai chili Tuna! |
